Creating Through Points Curves

You can create through points curves using a series of sketch points or vertices.

  1. From the Modeling section of the action bar, click Through Points .
  2. In Points or Vertices , select the points or vertices from the work area to be used for the through points curve.
An updated curve is visualized as you select additional points.
  3. Optional: To edit the curve, do the following:
    1. Click a point on the curve.
    2. From the context toolbar, click one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Insert Add a point before the selected point.
Append Add a point after the selected point.
Replace Replace the selected point by another point.
    Delete Remove the selected point.
  4. Optional: To create a closed curve, click Closed Spline .
  5. Optional: To add a tangency constraint to the start point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Click Tangency .
    2. In Direction Support , select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify the Tangent Magnitude to specify the length of the tangent vector.
  6. Optional: To add both tangency and curvature constraints to the start point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Click Curvature .
    2. In Curvature Support , select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify the Curvature Radius to specify the radius of the tangent curvature.
  7. Optional: To add a tangency constraint to the end point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Click Tangency .
    2. In Direction Support , select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify the Tangent Magnitude to specify the length of the tangent vector.
  8. Optional: To add both tangency and curvature constraints to the end point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Click Curvature .
    2. In Curvature Support , select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify the Curvature Radius to specify the radius of the tangent curvature.
  9. Optional: To use a support surface, do the following:
    1. Click Support Surface .
    2. In Projection Support , select a face or plane from the work area.
