You can add a lock mate to maintain the current position between two components.
Typically, you use several mates to position two components relative to each other. Computation time rises with the number of mates to be solved. Using a lock mate instead of several other mates reduces computation time, which can be significant in large assemblies with many mates.
Before you begin: Position the two components relative to each other using methods such as the following:
Drag
components.
Select a component in the design tree and then, in the 3D area, drag handles of the Robot.
Add standard mates (such as coincident, concentric, and parallel) to position the components. Then delete the mates before adding the lock mate.
In the
3D area, Ctrl + select the two components to mate.
On the context toolbar, click Lock .
The mate locks the current position between the two components.
