Generative view styles are defined by an
administrator and specify the appearance and behavior of a generated
view.
This task shows you how to create a view
using generative view styles. You can use generative view styles to create any type of view.
From Me
> Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Mechanical Systems > Drafting > Administration section, clear the Disable generative view
style usage check box.
This activates the generative view style
functionality.
To create a reference view like the front view:
From the View Layout section of the action bar, click Front View
.
In the Creation Options
panel, select one of the generative view styles available from
the list. For example, select DefaultGenerativeStyle. The
parameters defined in this file will be used when creating the view.
In the 3D area, select a plane of the 3D part or a
plane surface, to define the reference plane.
Click anywhere on the sheet to generate the view.
The view is created using the selected generative view
style. This result depends on the parameters
defined in the generative view style you selected.
To create a derived view from a reference view:
From the action bar, click a command that creates a derived view (projection, section view, and others) from the existing reference views.
In the Creation Options
panel, select one of the generative view styles available from
the list. For example, select DefaultGenerativeStyle. The
parameters defined in this file will be used when creating the view.
Under the Propagate Graphic Properties and Propagate Operator Specifications list, click the properties or specifications of the reference view to be propagated to the derived view.
Only those properties and specifications are available for selection which are applied to the reference view.
Click anywhere on the sheet to generate the view.
The view is created using the selected generative view
style. This result depends on the parameters
defined in the generative view style you selected.
