Map Copy Elements
You can associate multiple copy elements to a single or a threaded text frame in Adobe Illustrator. You can associate to regular and irregular shaped text frames.
- Select a single text area or a threaded text area.

From the Artwork Assembly panel toolbar, click
Map Multiple Elements.
The Map Multiple Elements panel opens. - In the Combined Text Area Name box, enter a name for the text area.

Perform one or both of the following actions.
- From the POA Artwork Assembly section, select one or more copy elements.
- From the Type Assignment section, select one or more candidate copy elements.

From the toolbar, click
.
The selected elements are added to the copy elements section. -
Enter the following details, as required.
- For candidate copy elements, specify the instance sequence and language locale values.
- Optional: For copy elements and candidate copy elements, modify the artwork file content.
- Optional:
Add markers in the copy elements section.
You can enter the marker content in the Artwork File Content column.

Rearrange the elements and markers in the copy elements section,
as required. You can select an element or a marker, and click
or
in the toolbar to move it up or down, respectively.
The preview of the content appears in the Combined Text Preview box. -
Click Save.
The modifications are saved. The header of the mapped single text area or threaded text areas shows the copy element type, instance sequence, and the local sequence number. If you add another text area to the threaded text area, it is added and the content is distributed. You can add a maximum of 25 single text areas to form a threaded text area.Note: If you want to maintain styling and formatting on text areas, in the 3DEXPERIENCE Preferences dialog box, in the Artwork tab, select Yes for the Server-side Text Style option.
