Operations on the Foreign Data

When the adaplet with all of its schema requirements is in place, you can query the foreign vault and see all the data from scott/tiger reconstructed as 3DSpace objects as defined in the mapping file.

Use an asterisk to search Foreign (Adaplet) vaults as well as Local vaults.

When case sensitivity is turned off in the database and an asterisk is not included in the Name field of a find operation on an adaplet vault (that is, if the name is explicitly specified), objects in adaplet vaults are shown with the name in the case as entered by the user, and not necessarily as it exists in the database. The standard adaplet provides full read/write access to these mapped objects. Any 3DSpace operation can be attempted on objects in a foreign vault, such as modify attributes, promote, connect, and so on.
