Creating a Wall

You can create a wall. A wall is a vertical component that is used to separate an area depending on its usage.

  1. From the Category list, select a wall category.
  2. Under Support,
    1. Select a surface, plane, output profile, or single-domain sketch as a support.

You can select multiple supports and click Element list to manage multiselection.

      Notes:
      • You can create a new sketch on the fly by right-clicking the Support box and selecting Create geometry > Sketch. The sketch must be single-domain.
      • In case of an output profile, the wall is created in the direction normal to the reference support of the output profile.

    2. Optional: Specify an offset from the selected support.

In case of multiple supports, you can select Common offset to apply the specified offset to all the selected supports. You can also set offsets to individual supports in the Element list dialog box.

  3. Under Limits, delimit the wall using one or both of the following methods:
    • Specify the height of the wall.
      1. Select the Use height as a limit check box.
      2. Select a plane, surface, or 2D profile as a reference for the height. If required, apply an offset to the reference. The offset is negative in the direction of the wall.
      3. Specify the height. You can click or use the handle in the 3D area to invert the direction of the wall.
    • Select limiting elements. You can select a surface, plane, or output profile as a limiting element.

If required, set an offset to the limits and change the orientation of the limits. You can also set the offset and change the orientation using the handles in the 3D area.

  4. Under Material, Thickness & Orientation,
    1. Select a material for the wall.
    2. Select a thickness corresponding to the selected material.

If the material table is not set in Data Setup, you can search and select the material from the database and enter the thickness value.

    3. Set the thickness orientation.
