Creating a Connector

You can create a connector to connect walls.


Before you begin: Open an accommodation system containing walls to connect.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Connector .
  2. From the Category list, select a connector category.

    If no project dictionary is set in Data Setup, only the default category is available.

  3. In the Name box, enter a name for the connector object or keep the system-generated name.
  4. In the Support box, select a curve for the connector to follow.
  5. Optional: In the Surface box, select the support (plane or surface) of the selected curve.
  6. Click , and sketch and position the section of the connector with respect to the walls.
    The created sketch appears in the Sketch box.
  7. Optional: In the Start Offset and End Offset boxes, specify the offset for connector limits from the start and end extremities.

    You can also apply the offset using the handles on the connector curve in the 3D area.

  8. From the Material list, select a material for the connector.
    The material list is generated from the material table assigned in Data Setup. If no material table is set in Data Setup, you can click More... to search and select the material from database.

    A color mask is available in the material list. It indicates the color computed by the Color ID business rule for the current feature.

  9. Click OK.
    The connector is created.

  10. Optional: To edit the connector, select the connector feature in the 3D area or in the tree, and click Edit Connector on the context toolbar.

    Note: The previously created sketch is displayed in the Sketch box. You can click to edit the sketch.
