Creating an Assembly Pattern from a Pattern Specification

You can create an assembly pattern from a pattern specification.


Before you begin: Open an assembly containing a 3D shape with a pattern specification and a 3D shape constrained with the pattern specification origin.
  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Assembly Pattern and select the component to instantiate.

  2. Select the pattern specification from the tree.
    The Assembly Pattern is previewed in the 3D area.

    Pattern instances are identified by cyan-colored axis systems.

  3. Click and select pattern instances to deactivate them.
    The deactivated pattern instances are magenta-colored.



    Notes:
    • You can activate pattern instances by clicking them again.
    • You can multi-select pattern instances using the selection trap.

  4. Click anywhere in the 3D area to validate. The cursor looks like this .
    The assembly pattern is created.



    • Pattern instances created from the selected instance appear in the tree.
    • The Assembly Pattern feature appears in the tree.
    • Assembly Pattern engineering connections are created.
  5. From the standard area of the action bar, click Update .
