Reusing a Pattern Specification in Another Location
You can reuse a pattern specification from a different location than the location it was specified to create an assembly pattern (new user experience).
Reusing an existing pattern specification indicates that all instances of the Assembly Pattern are created and aggregated under a new product node underneath the active product.
To do this, all instances of the Assembly Pattern are created and aggregated under a new product node, and this new product is created under the active product.
You can easily constrain the new product by selecting any geometrical element instances as all instances are seen as a single component.
Before you begin: Open an assembly containing a pattern specification in one of its components.
From the
Assembly section of the
action bar,
click
Assembly Pattern
and select the component to instantiate.
Select the
pattern specification from the
tree.
Clear the Reuse selected instance option in the Assembly Pattern panel.
Select the All instances in a component option in the Assembly Pattern panel.
Click anywhere in the
3D area
to validate. The cursor looks like this
.
The assembly pattern is created.
Pattern instances created from the selected instance, appear under a new product in the tree.
The Assembly
Pattern feature appears in the
tree.
Assembly Pattern engineering connections are created.
From the
standard area
of the
action bar,
click
