Condition

A 3D part is replaced with another 3D part in the assembly product using the Replace command of Product Structure Design.

Cause

Starting with V6R2018x, the comparison criteria in the Global import feature are changed. The replacing 3D part must respect one of the following conditions to be correctly updated in the derived representation:

  • The 3D part is a revision of the replaced 3D part, or whatever component of the same PLM family.
  • The 3D part is created using the Save As... command from the replaced 3D part.
  • The 3D part is a clone of the replaced 3D part, generated by a Product Table.

Solution

  1. In the derived representation, delete the Global import link corresponding to the replaced 3D part.
  2. Edit the derived representation.
  3. Select the replacing 3D part from the tree or the 3D area.
The replacing 3D part is displayed in the Selected Shapes list.
  4. Click OK.
