Authoring a Local Copy Content

You can author the copy text for a local copy content.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author
  • App-specific: Local Copy Author

You can add or modify the content of the New cell for a local copy by using the inline edit functionality.


Before you begin:
Note: If artwork package contains master graphic elements, the local copy author has no task to author the graphic element.
  1. Enter the following details about the local copy content authoring task.
    1. In the Copy Text field of the New column, enter the copy text.
      You can also click to add the characters in the Copy Text box. You can select the formatting options to format the text in the Copy Text box.
    2. Click OK.
      The new information appears in the New column, followed by the old information in strike through.
    3. Click i to view and edit the task details.
      The Summary View page appears.
    4. In the page toolbar, click Edit Details.
      The Edit Task Details page appears.
    5. Enter these details.

      Field Description
      Due Date Click to select an appropriate due date and select an appropriate due time from the list.
      Comments Enter the comments.

    6. Click Done.
      The due date and comments are saved, and the Edit Task Details page is closed.
    7. Optional: In the page toolbar, click Update Assignee to change the Assignee.

      Note: If you change the assignee, you cannot author and submit the selected task. If a route template is assigned to the local copy, you can update an assignee only if the route template is created with the Allow Delegation check box selected.

      The Authoring for Local Copy Type page appears.
    8. Optional: Enter these details.

      Field Description
      Due Date Click to select an appropriate due date and select an appropriate due time from the list.
      Update Assignee Select the type of the new assignee.
      New Assignee Click and select a different local copy author.
      Reassignment Comments Enter the reassignment comments.

    9. Optional: Click Done.
      The assignee is changed and the task is removed from the tasks in the Assigned Tasks tab, and the Authoring for Local Copy Type page is closed.
    10. Close the Summary page.
      This updates the Artwork Element page for the local copy content authoring.
  2. Click Save to save the changes.
    If the local copy element is in the Release state, the following actions occur:
    • A revision of the local copy is created and attached to the master copy.
    • The owner is defined as the logged in user.
    • The new revision is connected to the artwork package as an implemented item.
    • The new revision is associated to the POAs on the artwork package.
    Note: If the value of new revision is empty and an approved revision exists, the previously approved revision is attached to the EBOM of POAs.
  3. Select the Copy Element Type check box of a local copy element.
  4. Click Submit.

  • If the selected copy element has no copy text content, the submit is rejected and an alert message is displayed.
  • If the copy element has copy text and it is not in the Release state, a notification email for local copy content approval is sent to the local copy approver.
    Note: A notification email is sent to the route owner when you submit the authoring task. The authoring task assigned to the local copy author is marked as Complete.
