Adding Artwork Elements to the Artwork Assembly

You can add artwork elements from the artwork file to the artwork assembly of the POA. You can add the artwork element if it is present in the GS1 response file, but not in the artwork assembly of the POA. You can also add the artwork element if it is present in both the GS1 response file and the artwork assembly, but is modified in the artwork file.

When you synchronize, the contents of the artwork element in the artwork file replace the contents of the artwork element in the artwork assembly. The changes in the content of the artwork element are reflected in all POAs where the artwork element is used. If you want the changes to reflect only for this POA, you must add the artwork element from the artwork file as a new artwork element to the POA. After you add it, you can remove the old artwork element from the artwork assembly of the POA.

Add Copy Elements

You can add a copy element from the artwork file if it is not present in the artwork assembly or if the copy text is modified in the artwork file.

  1. Select the copy element to add.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Actions > Add Element To Assembly.
    • If the required master copy element and local copy elements are not present in the artwork assembly, the Create Master Copy page appears.
      1. Enter the following details.

        Field Name Description
        Type The type of the existing copy element. This field is not editable.
        Display Name Type a name for the copy element.
        Translate Shows Yes if the element must be translated. This field is not editable.
        Inline Translation Shows Yes if the element contains content that must be translated inline. This field is not editable.
        Language Shows the languages of the master copy and the local copies.
        Instance Sequence Shows the instance sequence number. This field is not editable.
        Master Copy Text Shows the content of the master copy. Modify if required.
        Local Copy Text Shows the content of the local copy. Modify if required.
        Place Of Origin Select the element under which the copy element must be created. By default, the copy element is created under the root of the hierarchy.
        Responsible Organization The organization in which the copy element is created. This field is not editable.

      2. Click Done.
    • If the required master copy element is present in the artwork assembly, but the local copy elements are not present, the Create Local Copy page appears.
      1. Enter the following details.

        Field Name Description
        Language Shows the languages of the local copy element.
        Copy Text Shows the content of the local copy. Modify if required.
        Responsible Organization The organization in which the copy element is created. This field is not editable.

      2. Click Done.
    • If the required master copy element and local copy elements are present in the artwork assembly, a message appears asking to create new master and local copy elements. If the copy elements are in the Release state, new revision are created, copy text is updated, and the elements are added to the POA.

The master copy and local copies, if any, are created for the POA and is added to the artwork assembly of the POA.

Add Graphic Elements

You can add a graphic element from the artwork file either if it is not present in the artwork assembly or if the graphic is modified in the artwork file.

  1. Select the copy element to add.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Actions > Add Element To Assembly.
    The Create Graphic Element page appears.
  3. Enter the following details.
    Field Name Description
    Type From the list, select a type.
    On premises only: Your Business Administrator can configure the graphic element type.
    Document Type Select one of the following types:
    • Graphic
    • Photo
    • Symbol
    Image/File Click Browse to select an image or a file.
    Display Name Type a name for the graphic element.
    Description Type the description.
    Instance Sequence Shows the instance sequence number. This field is not editable.
    Place Of Origin Select the element under which the graphic element must be created. By default, the graphic element is created under the root of the hierarchy.
    Responsible Organization The organization in which the copy element is created. This field is not editable.
  4. Click Done.

The graphic element is created for the POA and is added to the artwork assembly of the POA.
