About Conditional Formatting

You can apply conditional formatting to automatically highlight data in a table according to the value of a property for any given data set. This allows you to quickly identify data that fulfills certain criteria.

Apply conditional formatting to a table by creating formatting rules. When you apply conditional formatting, all cells in the column or row are colored unless you have applied other conditional formatting to individual cells.

If you create more than one conditional formatting rule, Insight for Research applies the rules in top to bottom order. Place the most specific rule first and the most general rule last. You can drag rules to reorder them. The rule you are editing has a blue triangle on the upper right corner.

If you apply conditional formatting to one or more columns or rows, the conditional formatting on a column takes precedence over conditional formatting on a row.
