Scientific Notebook allows you to link experiments to Formulation Design formulations and Materials Management materials.

You can use Formulation Design to capture the product development information for formula design in real time.

You can use Materials Management to define materials by their composition and properties.

Formulas

Each formulation type Scientific Notebook experiment can link to a single formula defined in the Formulation Design app. Each formula might use one or more materials defined in the Materials Management app, in which case the materials' names in the experiment provide direct links to the materials. Scientific Notebook users can edit the materials used in the formula's instance in a given experiment.

Materials

Each generic type Scientific Notebook experiment can link to one or more materials defined in the Materials Management app. Scientific Notebook displays the information for each Materials Management material in the Materials pane table, including its role, CAS number, amount, and unit. You can open and view the full details of any material directly from the experiment.
