About Results and Answers

Each task of a study defines the test protocol to run on a set of candidates. Tests each generate a set of observations that combine to provide a result. You can interpret the result as a consolidated answer to the corresponding Discovery Decision Path question for the related candidate.

Results

Each protocol in the Discovery Decision Path contains a list of candidates for which results are available. Each candidate reports the result for each parameter measured and its color indicates whether the result value is within the threshold. The color corresponds to the Heat Map representation for the same combination of candidate and Discovery Decision Path element.

Answers

When a result is available for a candidate, an initial assessment of that result in comparison to the specified parameter threshold is generated automatically. This determines whether the candidate is promoted to the next stage. A scientist must then interpret the result, form a conclusion, and publish their consolidated answer. You can define a consolidated answer for any element of the Discovery Decision Path. Candidates' results inform answers for protocols and test, these in turn allow you to create consolidated answers for questions and ultimately for characteristics.
