Adding a User Defined Footing

User Defined Footing lets you add a footing of your own design using a solid or a sketch as the basis for the footing.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Footing with a Solid

  1. To create a sketch of the footing:
    1. In the 3D area, create a sketch.
    2. In the Sketcher app, in the Sketch section of the action bar, click Exit App .
  2. To create a solid footing from the sketch:
    1. From the 3D area, click the sketch.
    2. Use one of the commands from the Geometry section to convert the sketch to a solid.
  3. From the Foundation section, click User Defined Footing .
  4. From the 3D area, click the footing solid.
  5. From the User Defined Footing dialog box, click .

Create a Footing with a Sketch

  1. Create a sketch using the Rectangle or Line from the Structure section of the action bar.
  2. From the Foundation section of the action bar, click User Defined Footing .
  3. From the 3D area, click the sketch.
  4. Drag the thickness handle to desired thickness.

    Alternatively, enter the thickness in the value box.

  5. From the User Defined Footing dialog box, click OK.
