Adding the Foundation

Typically, a footing supports each pier. The piers sit on the foundation level. Together the footings and piers support the building above with its column structure.

In Buildings and Civil Structures Design, you create piers using cast columns placed on the foundation level. The typical workflow is to first create a structural grid and the footings. However, in Buildings and Civil Structures Design, you can create the piers without first creating the footings.
