Creating a Cast Corbel

You can create cast corbels on cast columns.

  1. Add cast columns to your project.

    Buildings and Civil Structures Design only supports creating cast corbels on cast columns.

  2. From the Concrete section of the action bar, click Cast Corbel .

    The grid segments are displayed on the four sides of eligible vertical cast columns.

  3. In the 3D area, hover over the grid segment on the column where you want place the corbel and click to place it.
  4. From the Cast Corbel dialog box, specify the appropriate value for the following:
    1. Corbel Length in the direction perpendicular to the face of the column.
    2. Corbel Width in the direction parallel to the face of the column.
    3. Corbel Depth in the vertical direction.
    4. Chamfer length in the direction perpendicular to the face of the column.
    5. Chamfer depth in the vertical direction.
  5. To specify additional options, click Options.
    1. To position the corbel from the top of the host column, specify the Vertical offset.
    2. To position the corbel in the U direction horizontally, enter the U offset.

      This option is available for corbels on square and rectangular columns.

    3. To define the corbel rotation around the vertical axis of a round column, enter the Rotation.

      This option is only available for corbels on round columns.

  6. In the 3D area, add additional corbels either on the same host column or on the other cast columns in the building.


  7. Click OK.
