Creating a Member Sketch

You can create a sketch positioned on a catalog member.

Before you begin: Open a building containing catalog members.
  1. From the Steel Detailing section of the action bar, click Member Sketch.
    The building is hidden, the catalog members are shown as transparent, and their neutral axes are displayed.
  2. Select a positioning point on the neutral axis of a catalog member.
  3. To change the position of the sketch origin, drag the distance manipulator that appears on the catalog member.
  4. Click the switch end in the work area to change the end from which the distance is measured.

  5. To change the orientation of the sketch support plane and link it to another plane relative to the host member, click Snap Rotation To Next Plane .
  6. Click Ok .
  7. Create a sketch.
    The sketch appears under the associated member-driven sketch feature in the tree.

  8. To edit the associated sketch, double-click the V axis or the H axis in the work area or double-click the sketch in the tree.
