Adding the Foundation

You can add the foundation story into a building.

Before you begin: Create a structural grid. If you are a building grid for the structural grid, ensure that the Foundation Reference Planes activated.

Context:

Note: Buildings and Civil Structures Design automatically adds the foundation the first time your create a footing or pile arrangement. If you are creating piers on a structural grid without a foundation, you do need to create the foundation before adding the piers.

  1. In the tree, click Shell and Core.
  2. From the context toolbar, click Insert Foundation Story .

The foundation story is added below the lowest story in the building.
