LotA lot is a physical instance of a material that can be tracked. MaterialA material is a description of the matter from which things are made, including its physical and chemical properties. The material might have a substance constituency and physical layout. The physical layout is the arrangement of the constituent substance units in space. The material can be heterogeneous or homogeneous. Heterogeneous materials have different values for the same property at different physical points. Homogeneous materials have consistent properties throughout the material.
