Configuring Formulas

You can specify a formula to express the Boolean equation governing entity activation. Configuring entities fine tunes the model to behave as expected in a specific context, for example for a given disease or a specific tissue.

  1. Open the Model Overview panel for a pathway model.

    For more information, see Reviewing Models, Entities, and Interactions.

  2. Optional: On the Entities tab, for the entity of interest, set the Behavior Type to Custom.

    Editing the Formula automatically changes this setting to Custom.

  3. For the entity of interest, click in the Formula cell.
  4. Enter the required formula that describes the entity's interactions and click elsewhere or press Tab.

    Tip: If the name of an entity in the formula includes a space, enclose the entity's name in square braces.

The formula updates with the new value.
