Describing this Operation

This operation searches for the object whose name or path is specified. This bind loads the object from the database if not present in the current session. To know more about the bind mechanism, see About the Bind Mechanism

Notes:
  • ExtObj lets you bind the runtime technological object.
  • Use this operation along with a Query one to retrieve PLM parameters from database.

Name Name attributed to the operation.
Comment Comment attributed to the operation.

Frame Fields Explanations
Bind Starting from In the Operations tree, click:
  • An object or an operation variable that contains an item at run time.
  • An operation.
The search starts from the object indicated in this field. If nothing is indicated, the search starts from this operation.
Relative Name Enter the object name that you are looking for or an access path (using the ../.. syntax). The object you are looking for cannot be the object you get through a specific Bind operation (Bind a Representation, Bind a Technological Object, and Bind a Parameter.) This field can contain the ExtObj. This keyword is replaced at runtime by the object supporting the type the operation belongs to.
