Searching

You can search for files in the ENOVIA database and navigate through the structure using the search and browse capabilities provided by AutoVue.

This task shows you how to:

Search

You can search for files in ENOVIA database and perform compare, overlay, and cross probe tasks.

  1. From the AutoVue client, click File > Browse.
  2. Click Search ENOVIA tab.

    You can search for files by entering the file attributes in the search criteria options. The options are:

    • Type
    • Name
    • Revision
    • Vault Name
    • Owner Name

    Warning: The search criteria area is not displayed, if you are using the Safari browser on a MAC OS.

    Tip: You can view the options, if you disable the universal file dialog and use old style dialog box. For more information, see Setting for Dialog Box in the AutoVue 3D Viewer Administrator's Guide.

  3. Click Search.
    The search results are displayed.
  4. Select a file from the results and click OK.

Browse

You can navigate through the structure of files and folders in ENOVIA using the Browse menu option.

  1. Click File > Browse.
    The File Browse dialog box appears
  2. Click the ENOVIA tab.

    If the design is in a workspace, the top level structure of the workplace is displayed. If the design is not in the workspace, only the design is displayed.

    You can click on the workspace to navigate through the structure of the design and folder in the workspace.
