Inserting a New Drawing Representation

You can insert a new drawing in an existing assembly.

A drawing is a 2D design representation made up of sheets and views. Sheets are aggregated in the drawing. Views are aggregated in the sheets. For more information about drawings, see Drafting User's Guide.

  1. Select a product.
  2. From the section of the action bar, click Insert New Drawing .

    Notes:
    • To successively repeat this action, double-click the command. The repeat mode is only available for a monoselection. To end the repeat mode, press Esc.
    • This command is also available from the context menu.

    The Drawing dialog box appears.

    By default, the Drawing tab is selected. Select the Drawing Information tab to define drawing specific attributes.

  3. Enter the details about the drawing.
    • Title
    • Description.
      Note: The Name box displays the non-editable and unique key server identifier.
    • Manufacturable/Procurable: Select Yes to indicate that the object is to be part of the manufacturing definition.
  4. Click Finish.
    The new drawing representation is added in the existing assembly.
