Replacing by Latest Minor Revision (Overload)

You can overload the current revision of a product, 3D part, 3D shape, and drawing with its latest minor revision.

Important: By default, this command is not displayed. If you do not see this command, ask your administrator to select Enable Minor Revision Authoring Commands in the parameterization console. For more information, see Platform Management Administration Guide.


Before you begin: Open an assembly including a component:
  • With at least one minor revision
  • Not in its latest minor revision

Replacing Products
  1. Select one or several objects.
  2. From the section of the action bar, click Overload Latest Minor Revision .

    Tip: You can also select this command from the context menu.

    The Overload Latest Minor Revision dialog box appears and lists, for every selected object, its current version and its latest minor revision.
  3. Click OK.
    A message informs you that the latest minor revision overloads the previous, for every selected object.
    Warning: The instance name (displayed in the Properties dialog box) is not updated. The previous instance name is kept.
    Important:
    • The Overload Latest Minor Revision command does not replace the selected object. It overloads its current version with its latest minor revision in session.
    • Since an overloaded instance is not considered as modified, a save is not proposed.
    • This command is not available on a root product.
    • This command does not provide any option for automatic reroute of minor-sensitive links. To reroute such links, use the Links & Relations command.
