Creating a Blended Surface

The Blend command lets you create a surface between two wireframe elements.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Blended Surface Between Curves

  1. In the 3D area, select two curves.
  2. Refine your design by defining supports:
    1. In the 3D area, select two supports.
    2. Under Continuity, select a type.

This parameter defines the continuity connection between the blended surface and the curves selected as input.

    3. Select Trim first support or Trim second support to trim a support and assemble it to the blended surface.

Note: Trimming a support is unavailable when you edit a blended surface after its creation.

  3. Optional: Under Smooth parameters, define an angular threshold or a deviation.
  4. Validate .

Create a Blended Surface Between Closed Contours

  1. In the 3D area, select two contours.

A preview of a twisted blended surface appears. For example:

By default, the command defines closing points by using existing vertex or by creating extremum points.

  2. To avoid creating a twisted surface, define new closing points.
  3. Validate .
