Performing a Symmetry on a Geometry

The Symmetry command lets you transform a geometry using mirror symmetry. The symmetry is based on a reference element that can be a plane, a point, or a line.

  1. Under Result, select one of the following options:
    • : the result of the transformation is a surface.
    • : the result of the transformation is a volume.

Important: This switch only applies to volumes as the transformation of a surface can only be a surface.

If you multiselect volumes and surfaces as inputs, the switch only affects volumes.

  2. In the work area, select the geometry to mirror.

Note: You can select several geometries.

  3. Select the reference element to use for the symmetry.
  4. Validate .
