Ordered Geometrical Sets

Ordered Geometrical Sets define a set of elements in the model. New and imported parts are created with Ordered Geometrical Sets.

Inserting an Ordered Geometrical Set

An Ordered Geometrical Set (OGS) can be viewed as a container for a set of history-based features. The resulting geometry created by these features is treated as a group because it belongs to a set. A single Ordered Geometric Set may have more than one body resulting from the features within it, but they are seen as a single entity as they are managed by the set. To manage bodies independently, it is required they belong to different sets.

Features or sketches created in the app always must belong to an OGS. If no OGS exists in the 3DShape when you start a new sketch or features, a default OGS named “Design Features” is created automatically.

Note: xSheetMetal creates Body and Flat Pattern sets, while x3D Design and xShape Design use OGS.

You can:

  • Apply color to an OGS
  • De-activate/activate an OGS
  • Hide/Show an OGS
  • Rename an OGS
  • Delete an OGS
  • Create multiple OGSs

You cannot:

  • Reorder OGSs in the tree
  • Move sketches or features from one set to another
