Sketch Offset

You can create a geometry from the selected sketching objects in the work area.


Before you begin: In an active sketch, create geometry using sketch objects.
  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Sketch Offset .
  2. In the work area, select an edge or shaded region from an active sketch.
    The item appears in the Entities to offset dialog box and a preview appears in the work area.
  3. Optional: Double-click the Robot handle to flip the offset direction in the preview.
  4. Enter a value in the callout to specify the offset distance. Alternatively, drag the Robot handle.
    The offset value appears in the call out as you drag the Robot handle. To reverse the offset direction, click .
  5. Optional: In the Entities to offset dialog box, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Select Chain Creates an offset for all the entities contained in a continuous chain from the selected item.
    Make Construction Converts the selected item to construction geometry.
    Bidirectional Offset Creates an offset on both sides of the selected item at an equal distance.
  6. Click .
