Creating Through Point Curves

You can create through points curves using a series of sketch points or vertices.

  1. From the Surfaces section of the action bar, click Through Point Curve .

Tip: In the top menu of the dialog box, you can switch between Projection Curve , Through Point Curve , and Intersection Curve features.

  2. In the work area, select points or vertices to be used for the through points curve.
In the Through Point Curve dialog box, the selected items are listed in the Location field. The preview appears in the work area as you make selections.
  3. To create a closed curve, click Closed Spline check box.
  4. To add a tangency constraint to the first point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Under Continuity, from the First point list, select Tangency.
    2. In the Direction support, select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify a Magnitude value for tangency.
  5. To add a tangency constraint to the last point of the curve, do the following:
    1. Under Continuity, from the Last point list, select Tangency.
    2. In the Direction support, select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify a Magnitude value for tangency.
  6. To add both tangency and curvature constraints to the first point of the curve, do the following:
    1. From the First point list, select Curvature.
    2. In the Curvature support, select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify a Curvature radius value for the radius of the tangent curvature.
  7. To add both tangency and curvature constraints to the last point of the curve, do the following:
    1. From the Last point list, select Curvature.
    2. In the Curvature support, select a face or edge from the work area.
    3. Specify a Curvature radius value for the radius of the tangent curvature.
  8. To use a support surface, under Advanced, in the Projection support, select a face of plane from the work area.
  9. To edit the curve, do the following:
    1. Click a point on the curve.
    2. From the context toolbar, click one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Adds a point before the selected point.
Adds a point after the selected point.
Replaces the selected point by another point.
    Removes the selected point.
