Translate Using a Direction and a Distance

From the Transform section of the action bar,
click Translate
.
The Translate panel appears.
- Under Result, select one of the following options:
- : the result of the transformation is a surface.
- : the result of the transformation is a volume.
Important: This switch only applies to volumes as the transformation of a surface can only be a surface. If you multiselect volumes and surfaces as inputs, the switch only affects volumes.
- Under Type, select the following option:

In the work area,
select the geometry to translate.
Note: You can select several geometries.

To define the vector, do one of the following:
- Select a line to use its orientation as the translation orientation.
- Select a plane to use its normal direction as the translation orientation.

In the Distance box, specify a value.
A preview of the translated geometry appears. For example, when a plane is selected:
