You can view various designs based on different loads using the
same restraints. The Load Case Manager allows you to turn loads on and off, as
well as vary the load mass. Select load possibilities, compare the results, and
choose the optimum design.
Before you begin: Load your initial geometry into the
work area
and apply your restraints.
From the
Design Guidance section of the
action bar,
add the load (forces, pressure, and torque) to your design.
Option
Description
Distributed - Distributes the load
on the selected faces.
Point - Concentrates a force,
applied at the face center of the selected faces.
Pressure - Applies force normal to
the selected faces.
Torque - Applies a torque about an
axis through the center of the selected faces.
From the
Design Guidance
section of the
action bar,
click
Load Case Manager
.
All loads applied to the geometry in the
action bar
are listed in the
Load Case Manager dialog box.
Click the
Include checkbox to add loads to the load
case.
Optional:
Edit the mass using the arrows or typing in a value.
Note the load case number shown at the top of the
Load Case column. This load case number is also
displayed in the
Design Manager and used to select load cases in
the
New Design and
RedesignSettings tab. To rename the load case, click
> Rename
and type a new name, and press
Enter.
Optional:
Click plus (+) to add load cases to the
Load Case Manager.
Select the loads and edit the mass value for the new case
load.
Click
to save your settings and close
Load Case Manager dialog box.
Click the
New Design or
Redesign to open the
Design Guidance dialog box.
Click the
Settings tab and expand
Load Cases.
Select the Load Cases you want to analyze in the
Design Guidance study.
Click
Generate to create a
New Design or
Redesign shape.
