Connecting Functions or Logical Components with Interfaces

Functional or logical interfaces enable data exchange between functional or logical instances.

This task shows you how to:

Insert a New Functional Interface

  1. Select a function.
  2. From the Editing section of the action bar, click Insert New Interface .
  3. In the Insert New Reference dialog box, enter a title.
  4. In the Interface Direction list, select one of the following directions:
    • Consumption
    • Emission
  5. Click Create and Close to validate.

Insert a New Logical Interface

  1. Select a logical component.
  2. From the Editing section of the action bar, click Insert New Interface .
  3. In the Insert New Reference dialog box, enter a title.
  4. In the Interface Direction list, select one of the following directions:
    • In
    • Out
    • InOut
    • NoDirection.
  5. Click Create and Close to validate.

Insert an Existing Interface

You can insert a functional interface.

  1. Select a function or logical component.
  2. From the Editing section of the action bar, click Insert New Interface .
  3. In the Insert Existing Reference dialog box:
    • Select a flow or a system type reference in the list.
    • Click to run a query in the database.
  4. Click Create and Close to validate.
