You can use a pressure to apply a distributed load normal to a surface.

Apply Uniform Pressures

You can apply a pressure that has the same value for all points within the selected supports.

  1. From the Scenarios section of the action bar, click Pressure .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Enter a magnitude in the Pressure field.
  4. Click OK.

Apply Hydrostatic Pressure Distributions

You can apply a pressure that varies according to height.

  1. From the Scenarios section of the action bar, click Pressure .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Enter a magnitude in the Pressure field.
  4. Enter the Z coordinate of the Zero pressure height.

    This is the height at which the pressure is zero.

  5. Enter the Z coordinate of the Reference pressure height.

    This is the height at which the pressure is the magnitude specified in the Pressure field.

  6. Click OK.
