Locking Components

In a collaborative environment, you can lock a physical product or geometry that you are working on to prevent others from making changes to it.

This task shows you how to:

Lock a Physical Product

  1. From the Design Manager, select a physical product to lock.

    You can choose multiple physical products.

  2. From the Lifecycle section of the action bar, click Lock .

    Alternatively, from the tree, you can right-click the physical product that you want to lock and from the context toolbar, click .

    Note: You need to save the product first to lock it.

    The physical product becomes available only to you and restricts other users from accessing it.

Lock Geometry

  1. From the Design Manager, select a physical product whose geometry you want to lock.

    You can select the geometry of multiple physical products.

  2. From the Lifecycle section of the action bar, click Lock Geometry .

    Alternatively, from the tree, you can right-click the geometry that you want to lock and from the context toolbar, click . The geometry becomes available only for you and restricts other users from accessing it.
