Assigning roles and Additional Apps

Administrator can assign relevant roles and additional apps that are required to access Design with CATIA V5 from CATIA V5 through the Members dashboard in 3DDashboard Platform Management.

  1. Log in as an administrator in 3DDashboard Platform Management.
  2. Navigate to the Members dashboard.
  3. Search for a member.
  4. In the Roles tab, select the 3D Component Designer check box and click OK.

    Note: To work with Design with CATIA V5, 3D Component Designer role must be assigned in addition to the Collaborative Business Innovator and Collaborative Industry Innovator roles.

  5. In the Additional Apps tab, select the CATIA V5 check box and click OK.

    The administrator has to select the CATIA V5 app for the user.

When you log in to the web application as a user who has been granted roles and additional apps by the Administrator, CATIA V5 appears in the 3D Modeling Apps section of the Compass.

You can use CATIA V5 for following purposes:

1. Start CATIA V5 with 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Services connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE server.

2. Create 3DEXPERIENCE desktop shortcut to CATIA V5 with 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Services add-in.
