Document Status in CATIA V5

Icons are displayed in the CATIA V5 specification tree to display the status of the documents in 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

This following section lists the icons displayed in the specification tree and the relevant status of the document:
Icon Status Description
New The document is new in the active session. Save new documents to the local computer before saving them in 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Exist The document open in the active session is latest, and unlocked in 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Obsolete The document open in the active session is not updated.

Your data can become obsolete if:

  • There was structure modification (authoring) under your data.
  • The data itself was modified. Your data does not become obsolete with all kinds of modifications on the object. Only the modifications that impact your CAD tool like modifying mapped attributes, and geometry changes make your data obsolete.

Important: If you do not have the permission to modify frozen data, you can still demote a part that is in the Frozen state in CATIA V5.
Not latest A later revision of the document open in the active session is available in 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Unknown Indicates that there is no active session for the selected structure.

An unknown status mark appears for an object that you have saved in another collaborative space.

Locked by me

Document open in the active session is locked by the active user in 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Locked by other Another user has locked the document open in the active session.
Saving Background save is in progress on these documents.
3DEXPERIENCE platform data The icon used to represent 3DEXPERIENCE platform data inside the CATIA V5 session.
SOLIDWORKS data The icon used to represent SOLIDWORKS data inside the CATIA V5 session.
NX data The icon used to represent NX data inside the CATIA V5 session.
