General Preferences

The general settings hold the common settings for all plug-ins.

To access these settings, click General in the Preferences tree.

Setting Description
Enable Debug Mode This check box enables the debug mode for application error analysis.
Enable Support Mode This check box enables the support mode of the application.
Reset to application defaults Reset to application defaults deletes all user settings and resets the application to the default settings.

Messaging Settings

The connector logs all events into the log panel. It is also possible to write the log events into a log file. This log file can be configured by the user.

Override default log directory

When selected, saves the log file to the directory you choose in the Log directory field.

If you do not specify a directory, the app stores the log file in %USERHOME%\.3DEXPERIENCE\logs.

For quick access to files, open the About dialog box and click the Additional tab in the Environment Details section.

Log Level You can use several log levels. Each level has its own characteristics that can be important to you or the support team.

Log Level Description
INFO Logs additional information including warning and error messages.
WARN Logs warning and error messages and excludes the INFO messages.
ERROR Logs error messages.
DEBUG Logs verbose debug messages. Usually, this option is only used by the Product Support team to analyze issues.

Communication Settings

To access these settings, click Communication in the Preferences tree.

This communication port is for the internal communication of the Client Connector. The Client Connector chooses the port automatically between the configured port ranges. The standard port range is between 9999 (Min Port) and 11111 (Max Port).
