Creating Designs Using Templates

You can create designs using the predefined templates (Containing Design Archive).

Before you begin: Ensure that the templates are created by the Integration Administrator or a user who has appropriate access privileges.
  1. In the Cadence Allegro toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Start New.
    The 3DEXPERIENCE Start New dialog box opens.
  2. Enter a name via the following options:
    1. Specify a name under the Name field.
    2. Choose Autoname Series from the menu so that the system can automatically assign a name from the Autoname Series selected.

    Note: Also, you can specify the directory under which the new CAD object would be created in by using the browser in the Location field to create a new data field.

    Once the template is selected, you can check out the template to create a new CAD object.
  3. Select Submit after the CAD object name is provided.
    The template is check out from 3DEXPERIENCE to the user specified directory and renames it according to the user's specified name or AutoName Series.
  4. Click OK.

    Note: Cadence does not support a hyphen in a file name. Client Connector changes the hyphen to #d2. For example, file name D-0000102 will be changed to D#d20000102.

    This will download the checked-out design into the CAD tool. Cancel will finish the checkout operation without opening the CAD tool.

A new CAD object is now ready to use.
