You can make a surface bigger or smaller by extending its
boundaries.
Two extension modes are available: Extension according to the existing parameters of the
surface and extension taking the curvature continuity into account and adding segments to the
initial surface.
Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape containing surfaces.
Select a surface boundary.
From the
Modify section of the action bar click Extend
.
Use the handles to extend the surface on both sides.
Keep segmentation selected: The surface is extended
according to its initial parameterization.
Keep segmentation cleared: The surface is extended taking
the curvature continuity into account. This means that segments are added to the initial
surface.
Note:
When Keep segmentation is cleared, the surface can only
be extended and not shortened.
The surface is updated when you release the mouse.
Click OK.
Right-click a handle and select Edit to define an extension step
value.
