Creating a Fold

Use Fold to fold a layer to enclose another layer. In other words, a fold consists of extra material added at the edges of the layer domain, on top of another layer or layers group.

Before you begin: The layer to fold must exist in the stacking.
  1. Select the edges to fold.

It must be a free edge (Border of material) and a straight line.

  2. Enter the Fold width, that is the width of the material to add at the selected edges.
  3. From the 3D area or from the tree, select the Target layer, then specify if the fold is created above or below this layer.
  4. Optional: Enter the Fold extra length (Bend allowance).

If you enter a fold extra length, it is visible in the flat view.
