Checking the Design in Smart View

Use Smart View to visualize the stacking or part of it at each step of the process, and create an intermediate result of the stacking in Drafting.

  1. Optional: Replace the default name Smart View.n with a more significant one.
  2. Select a stacking, layers group or layers.
  3. Select a Position Point that is the center point of the view.
  4. Define the Patterns: Create a pattern from a predefined empty sketch.

Note: The patterns can contain only vertex elements.

Both the Design View and the Packaged View are duplicated. The result is gathered in a Pattern View feature.

  5. Set the view to Flat or Elevated.
  6. Select the features to take into account.
    • Under Design Transformations, either All, or Mechanical Cut, Strain Transformations, or Fold Transformations.
    • Under Packaging Transformations, either All, or required Fold Lines.
A Smart View.n feature is created under View Group under Review Tools. It contains:
    • A Design View that depends on the transformations you have chosen to visualize.
    • A Packaged View that depends on the fold lines you have chosen to visualize.

For example, if a layer is impacted by

    • One Mechanical Cut
    • One Fold Transformation
    • Two Fold Lines
you can visualize each manufacturing process:
    • Without Transformations nor Fold Lines
    • With the Mechanical Cut, Fold Transformation and first Fold Line
    • With the Mechanical Cut, Fold Transformation and both Fold Lines.

  7. Use the context menu of Smart View to switch from the Design View to the Packaged View or vice versa.
