Creating the Stacking

Use to create the stacking, that is the complete ordered list of all the layers.

  1. Open an empty 3D Part.
  2. Optional: For easy identification, change the name of the stacking.
  3. Optional: Select the support plane of the stacking from the 3D area or from the tree.
    1. Optional: Use the context menu to create a plane.
  4. Define the machine direction from a line or a direction from an axis system.
    1. Optional: Use the context menu to create the element that defines the direction.
  5. Define the center point from a point.
    1. Optional: Use the context menu to create the point.
  6. Define an Elevated Offset to be used in Elevated view.
  7. Optional: Invert the machine or the cross direction, either from the dialog box or by clicking the corresponding arrow.

  • The Stacking node (named after your input) in the tree contains a Parameters set, and a Relations set and Stacking axis system.
    • Double-click to edit the stacking.
    • By default, the Parameters set is empty. Parameters are added as they are created.
    • Hiding Stacking axis system hides the stacking representation.
  • The stacking representation remains visible.
  • The machine direction is identified as MD, the cross direction as CD (Once validated their arrows are no longer clickable)
  • A centerline is displayed.
  • Back and front are identified.
