Adding a Domain to a Material

You can add a domain to a Core Material to gather information required in design and computations.

Before you begin: For more User Assistance, see Simulation > Physics Simulation > Material Definition > Material Domains > Adding Material Domains.
  1. From the top bar, select Add > Content
    1. Under the Materials section, select Core Material.
  2. From the Material Tools section of the action bar, select Add Domain.
    1. From the list, select Composite Domain and validate.
  3. Double-click the Material Composites Domain in the tree
    1. If you have access to other apps proposing a Composites Domain, select Layered Product Design.

Otherwise, the Layered Product Design opens directly.

  4. Select a type from the list and enter required parameter values:
    • Stranded Material: Material Length, Linear Density, Thickness
    • Glue/Lotion: Area Density
    • Roll Good: Material Length, Material Width, Area Density, Thickness, Repeated length
    • Liquid: Volumic Mass
    • Others: Volumic Mass.
The domain is aggregated under the Material reference.
