Creating an Embossing

You can create an embossing where where one or several layers are deformed through mechanical force, leaving a relief on the layers. As with the mechanical bond, the embossing process links the layers together.

  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Embossing .
  2. Optional: Replace the default name Embossing.n with a more significant one.
  3. Select the layer from which the embossing starts, and the layer where it ends.
  4. If you have selected the same layer as From and as To, specify the direction as Descending or Ascending.
  5. Define the Area by a sketch or a symmetry.

For more information on working with the Sketcher, see 3D Modeling Core: Sketcher.

  6. Define the Geometries of one or several Embossing Profiles. For each profile
    • Either create a sketch.

For more information on working with the Sketcher, see 3D Modeling Core: Sketcher.

    • Or create a pattern from a predefined empty sketch. The geometry is aggregated under the layer, inside a dedicated node.

For more information on creating patterns, see Patterning.

    • Or create a symmetry.
    1. Pick a color.
    2. Enter the Extrusion length.
