Creating Circular Patterns using Multiple Elements

You can create circular patterns using multiple surfacic or volumic elements, i.e. duplicate an original wireframe or surface-type element at the location of your choice according to a circular arrangement.


Before you begin: a 3D shape containing wireframe or surface elements.
  1. In the work area, select all the surfacic (or volumic) elements that you want to replicate.

    Important: The selection should contain either all surfacic or all volumic elements. Mixed selections are unsupported.

  2. From the Transform section of the action bar,, click Circular Pattern .
    The Circular Pattern Definition dialog box appears with the Object box displaying the number of elements you selected in step 1.
    Important: The dialog box appears only if you have already selected the patterning elements in the work area.
  3. Optional: Click to edit the patterning elements.
    The Object to Pattern dialog box appears. You can remove or replace the individual pattern elements.
  4. Optional: Select an element in the list and click either Remove or Replace to modify individual pattern elements.
  5. Optional: Click Close to close the dialog box.
  6. Specify the required inputs by referring the steps from 4 through 7 as explained in "Creating Circular Patterns using Single Elements".
  7. Click OK to create the circular pattern with multiple elements.
