Multi_Domain_Surface

This check verifies whether a shell is made up of multiple disjoint pieces, called domains. If so, the elements are considered as incorrect.

This page discusses:

Context

A multi-domain element is a geometry element consisting of multiple pieces separated by a gap or overlapping. Multi-domain elements are created if the gap or overlapping is larger than a certain value.

Note: You can set the gap or overlapping value, or set it according to the system tolerance.

After specific design operations such as intersections or joins, the topology can have large gaps and consist of more than one domain. Multi-domain elements can result in unexpected design changes.
