Unused_FTA_Datums

The check verifies whether a model contains reference elements that are not referenced within a reference frame. If so, an error is displayed.

Note:
  • The check succeeds if the reference element is either referenced within a reference frame or if the Allow_datums_linked_to_other_FTA_features_across parameter is checked. Then, another FTA element is linked to the same geometry element.
  • The check fails if the reference element is not referenced within a reference frame or if the Allow_datums_linked_to_other_FTA_features_across parameter is checked. Then, another FTA element is not linked to the same geometry element.

Context

Shape and location tolerances, in addition to the dimensional tolerances, are used to specified to indicate the functional reasons or for economical manufacturing. There can be unused datum elements that are not necessary and can compromise the clarity of view. You can use this check to list such FTA tolerances.

Check Information

Check Details Description
Applicable to: CATTPSSet
Automatic Solution: No
Check Parameters:
  • Allow_datums_linked_to_other_FTA_features_across: Boolean type.

Allows the datum elements without reference frames. If this option is selected, datum elements without reference frames are allowed if another FTA element is linked to the same BRep or geometry element.

Note: By default, the value is set to True.
  • Allowed_FTA_types: Multi Value Parameter type.

Lists the allowed FTA types among the following:

    • CATTPSBasicDim
    • CATTPSCoordDim
    • CATTPSFlagNote
    • CATTPSNoa
    • CATTPSNonSemantic
    • CATTPSReferenceFrame
    • CATTPSRestrictedArea
    • CATTPSRoughness
    • CATTPSSemantic
    • CATTPSText
