Applying and Qualifying the Profile on a Model

You can now apply the profile on a model, ensure that its quality reached, and monitor quality metrics.

Executing the Profile

You can execute the profile on your design in Quality Rules Reuse.

Before you begin: Import your model.
  1. Click on the 3D quadrant of the Compass and search for Quality Rules Reuse. Click the icon to open it.
  2. Click Profile in the action bar.

    The profile starts.

  3. Enter Program A Quality Checks in the 3D Search bar and press Enter.
    A list of checks is displayed.
  4. Check the dialog box to the left of the title to open the profile.
    The Results panel opens automatically. Expand the window to get a better view.
    Note: The result of the basic checks is not valid thanks to the stop condition. The check stopped running based on the attributes we specified in the profile.
  5. Right-click the check node and click Properties. In the Reference tab, edit the Description, add a Revision Comment, and click OK.

    Important: Save your work (Ctrl+S).

  6. Click Refresh to update the status of the checks.

    The checks are now valid. However, they did not run on the Maturity_B processing group thanks to the filter that was created in the profile.

  7. Right-click on the node in the tree that you are working on. Click Properties. Edit the Description in the Reference tab and click OK.
  8. Save your work (Ctrl+S) and click Refresh.
  9. Click Save all on the report, edit the title if required, and click OK.
    The assessment result has been saved.
  10. Click Assessment Result in the action bar.
  11. Select Program A Quality Checks and select Save All to link the report with the data on which it was run, and click OK.
  12. Close the Reports and reopen it by clicking Assessment Result.
  13. Click on the arrow in the Filter section to choose the result and click Open.

Running the Profile on a Drawing

You can run the profile on a drawing.

  1. Click Assessment Result or search for it in the 3D search bar.
  2. Click Run.
    Only drawing checks are executed. The others are identified as Not Pertinent.
  3. Start the Healing function on the Active_Sheet Check. It was defined as Sheet 1 in the profile.

    Repeat the healing as required.

  4. Update the report.
    All checks are now valid.
  5. Check the data quality by clicking B.I. Essentials in the action bar.
  6. Scroll down the B.I. Essentials panel and select Quality Check Configuration Status.
  7. Start Data Setup to create a Resource set to display a limited list of profiles.
  8. Scroll down the Resource Tables and locate QRC Profile resources. Click the plus sign at the left, its name, and select Create a new Resource Table.
  9. Edit the title and click OK.
  10. Click Unset.
  11. Locate and open it in the 3D Search bar.
  12. Click on the Logical Name and click Add a new resource sub item.
  13. On line 2, click Unset, return to the 3DS Search bar, and enter Check.
    The checks reopen. Select the new check to open the table. The new profile resource set is now visible in the table.
  14. Save your work (Ctrl+S).
  15. Locate and select Business Logic for Validation on Server in the resource table.

    Repeat as in the previous example, however, now check the Create a new Business Rule box. Edit the title and click OK.

  16. Save your work (Ctrl+S).

Validating a Model

You can view results, make changes, and save the assessment to authorize its promotion.

  1. Click Profile in Quality Rules Reuse.
  2. Select the profile from the list.
    • You can also locate it in the 3D Search bar.

    Note: Only the profiles defined in Data Setup are listed.

  3. Click Assessment Result.

    Notice that the quality of the data is invalid.

  4. Click the northern quadrant of the Compass and enter Collaborative Lifecycle.
  5. Open Collaborative Lifecycle.
  6. Promote the data to a frozen state.
  7. Click Change Maturity > OK.
    The promotion is declined because the quality is not reached.
  8. Reopen Quality Rules Reuse. Click Assessment Result
  9. Correct the data, run the profile, and save the report.
  10. From Collaborative Lifecycle, click Change Maturity.
    The Change Maturity status is successful. Promotion is authorized.

Monitoring Quality Metrics

You can monitor quality metrics, the status of a profile, and the status of a single check.

  1. Open Quality Rules Metrics and use the 3D Search bar to locate your product.
    All associated reports are also retrieved.
  2. Open the report to view the overall status of a profile as well as the status of each check.
  3. Click See History to consult the quality evolution.
